ahous adventures
Project Overview
The goal of this project was to amplify the voices of Indigenous owned and operated Ahous Adventures, an ethically cultural adventure tour company located in Tofino, British Columbia.
Our mission was to highlight whale watching and a trip to hot springs cove while capturing the true spirit of this remarkable ecosystem through Ahousaht knowledge.

unexpected magic
As artists, we’re always looking for the best conditions to capture the quiet enchantment of nature’s landscape. During our tour to Hot Springs Cove we chose the earliest departure at 8AM in hopes to have less crowds and spectacular light.
After a peaceful soak, we waited for the sun to align with the steam emerging from the natural hot springs and were blessed with crepuscular rays.
face to face
Our time on Vancouver Island was special because we got to welcome back the grey whales and witnessed the coast in all its vibrancy amidst the herring spawn. If the moment were to occur; it was a special request for the team to capture a grey whale approaching the Ahous Adventures boat. An encounter like this on the whale’s terms is a special moment we hope everyone can experience.
behind the camera we became a part of this ecosystem as we documented the balance and environmental stewardship between humans and nature.
